U16 Hurling County Champions 2016


Congratulations to the U16 Hurlers on their fantastic victory over Coláiste an Chraoibhín Fermoy on thursday 12th May. On a scorchingly hot day at Watergrasshill GAA, An Chroí Naofa ran out deserving winners on a scoreline of 3-11 to 2-8. Thanks also to our supporters who definitely made their presence felt!

Munster and All Ireland 7s Camogie Champions

The 7s camogie team competed in the Munster competition and beat St.
Als Carraigtwohill, Coláiste an Dún Iascaigh Cahir, SMI Newcastlewest
in the group games, they beat Cashel Community School in the semi
final by 1-7 to 1-4. In the Munster final they beat St. Marys Midleton
on a score line of 1-8 to 1-4.
The All Ireland Blitz took place in Dublin and it was the first time
ever for the school competing in this competition. In the group games
they beat St. Pauls Kilrea from Derry, and Claregalway but lost to
Grennan College Thomastown Kilkenny in their last group game by a
point. The top two teams qualified for the final and in the final we
faced Grennan College Thomastown Kilkenny again. In a very tight game
where there wasn’t more than a puck of the sliotar between the teams
the girls won on a score line of 2-2 to 1-3. It was a wonderful
achievement and privilege for the girls to be crowned All Ireland
Champions. Well done girls!

Cork Colleges Intermediate A Camogie Champions 2016

The senior camogie team won the Cork Colleges Intermediate A final
beating St. Als Carraigtwohill in a great game of camogie on a score
line of 6-2 to 3-8. They beat Glanmire Community College in the semi
final. Well done girls, back to back intermediate champions 2015 and
2016 having won the Cork Colleges Intermediate B final in 2015.

Cork Colleges First Year Camogie Blitz Champions 2016

The first year camogie team took part in the first year camogie blitz
and played a total of 5 games on the day. They played Crosshaven,
Presentation Mitchelstown and Glanmire Community College in their
group games. They then played Gaelcholaiste Mhuire North Mon in the
semi final. In the final they played  Presentation Mitchelstown again
and won on a score line of 2-3 to 0-2. Well done to all the girls.

Congratulations to the U16 hurlers after their resounding win over St. Peter's, Passage west in the semi-final of the Cork Colleges U16b Semi-final.

We were delighted to welcome back past pupil Nicky Kelly to the school on the 27th of march for a special training session. Its fair to say that the hurlers were delighted with the encouragement, words of wisdom and support Nicky had for them.

Nicky was a midfielder on the Cork Intermediate Hurling team which won the All-Ireland Championship in 2014 and is currently working as a production engineer for a German Company after graduating from C.I.T.

An exceptional team performance by the U15 hurlers as they booked their place in the Munster semi-final on the 11th of March in Fermoy. The Colaiste hurlers made light work of the atrocious conditions underfoot against a dogged Col. an Chraoibhinn Fermoy.

Congratulations to the first year camogie team on winning the Munster Colleges first Year Blitz.

They beat Blackwater Community School, Lismore 7-2 to 0-0 in their first game. They beat Christ King 4-4 to 1-2 then and beat Cashel Community School 4-0 to 1-3 in their last group game.

As group winners the girls progressed straight to the Final where they Met Christ King again and were victorious on a scoreline of 2-03 to 0-02. Captains on the day were Emma Murphy, Lisa O Riordan, Allie O’ Connell and Elizabeth Mc Grath.

Congratulations to the Junior Camogie team on winning the Cork Colleges

Junior Camogie final yesterday defeating Crosshaven on a scoreline of 7-6 to 3-2 





Hurling and Gaelic football are an integral part of extra-curricular activities

in the Colaiste. Discipline, Team-work, passion and commitment are all key

ingredients of every training session every Monday and Friday after school

Cork Colleges First Year Camogie Blitz 



The Cork Colleges First Year camogie blitz took place on Wednesday 8th

October. The girls played 3 group games and a final in the group games.

They beat Coláiste an Phiarsaigh, lost to 1st/2nd year team from Regina

Mundi and beat St. Angelas in their 3rd group game. They beat Coachford

College in the final on a score line of 4-1 to 2-3. They are now playing first

year ‘A’ championship camogie against Kinsale Community School, Blarney

and Christ the King.
