On Tuesday 9th December a group of Transition Year students and 5 second year students participated in the South Schools Enterprise Programme that was held at Cork airport. Students were asked to come up with an idea and turn it into a business. These two groups got an opportunity to exhibit their innovative student enterprise companies and sell their products at the Christmas Trade Fair. An incredible 92 trade stands attended the Trade Fair.
Transition Years entered the Senior category and made Christmas themed cupcakes to display and sell on the day. Their display stand as well as the quality of their products was a true reflection of work they contributed into making their company the huge success that it was.
The second year students entered the Intermediate Category and their products were scented Christmas tree decorations as well as wooden cross holders which can be used for tidying away Christmas tree lights. These lights can be wrapped around the holder and placed neatly away for next year.
There were a large amount of innovative products for sale on the day and the standard was extremely high. A team of judges consisting of members of the local community visited each stand and carried out a short interview with the students on the day. The second years were announced as the Overall Winners in the Intermediate Category and scooped their well deserved prize. They received a plaque for winning this category and each of the team members received a gift voucher.
Congratulations and well done to all !!
